Visit to Osborne House
This Royal palace was built by Thomas Cubitt from 1845.

Built in Italian Renaissance Palazzo style it was used by Victoria and Albert as a family home, away from the Court, to enable them to bring up their children in a natural environment.

Victoria 's love of India led her to commission the Durbar Room with exquisite work from the Sikh craftsman Bhai Ram Singh. Our members enjoyed an extensive tour of the House which included many family and state rooms,as well as the extensive gardens.

Mercifully, the weather was amenable and all participants enjoyed an extremely interesting day.
