Our Lectures are held in the Dorford Centre, Dorchester DT1 1RR . During the Covid restrictions, we held lectures via Zoom, these proved so popular, we continued with Hybrid lectures (zoom and live). Zoom links are sent to all members automatically a few days in advance. Guests are welcome but if you wish to view via Zoom you must contact us,
We meet usually on the 3rd Thursday of each month except July and August when we take a summer break. Due to some clashes at the Dorford Centre our dates do have to change so double check the date.
The lecture begins at 6.30 pm and lasts for one hour. There is a varied programme which now includes music and ballet, as well as the fine and decorative arts.
Our Special Interest Days held twice a year at the Cerne Abbas Village Hall, which is situated just off Duck Street, Cerne Abbas in Kettle Bridge Lane, Cerne Abbas DT2 7GY. These start at 10.30 and end approximately 3.00 pm. There are three lectures and breaks for coffee and lunch, which is included in the ticket price. A wonderful way to meet people and get more in depth knowledge about the subject.
Disability needs: A hearing loop and wheelchair access are provided at lectures and special interest days.
Guests and visitors are welcome. A voluntary donation of £5 per person will be requested at the Registration Desk on Lecture Days. For Special Interest Days there will be a fee payable which is detailed on the application form.
